Living next to Philz, I’ve started noticing that as people walk away, some of them are trying to figure out what to do with their mint sprig, and now that I’m paying attention to this, I’ve started seeing these castoffs crushed onto the sidewalk. Yesterday, as I was coming home, I actually saw someone lift this one out of his mint mojito and kick it into the treewell. Next to it was another one, ragged, probably from yesterday’s latte. The treewells on my street aren’t anything I’d want to look into for very long, so I cut short my study, but I did venture to pick this one up and clean it up and plant it.
Here’s the same sprig, cheerier, rinsed of its steamed milk, and rooting.
